Abstract

The study proves that the methods of static and dynamic probing can be and should be regarded as the methods of the direct field determination of such natural indicator of cohesive soils as their dynamic viscosity coefficient. The use of the actual values of dynamic viscosity coefficient allows abandoning such artificial characteristics of cohesive soils as an angle of internal friction and
adhesion in the calculation of strength and stability.
